iQOO is reportedly testing its next Neo-series smartphone for the Chinese market. A new leak has revealed some early details about the expected iQOO Neo12, including its processor, display, and cooling system.

According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, the iQOO Neo12 is currently under internal testing in China. The phone is tipped to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It may also come with a 2K resolution display.

The leak suggests that iQOO is exploring both passive and active cooling solutions for the device. This could allow support for external cooling accessories. It may also mean the company is considering an in-built cooling fan for the smartphone.

Active cooling systems are usually seen in gaming-focused smartphones. They help reduce heat during heavy gaming or long performance sessions. However, iQOO has not officially confirmed these features yet.

The reported cooling upgrade would mark a change from the previous model. The iQOO Neo11, which launched in China in October last year, did not include active cooling support.

The Neo11 featured the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6.82-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display, and a 7,500mAh battery. The upcoming Neo12 is expected to build on that hardware with improved performance and thermal management.

iQOO has not announced a launch date for the Neo12 so far. More details about the device are expected to appear in the coming months as testing continues.
