A newly released render video has offered an early look at the rumored iPhone 20, even though the iPhone 18 has not launched yet. The video, published by the YouTube channel fpt., shows a concept device with a nearly bezel-free design and several major hardware changes.

Apple has not confirmed the device or its features. However, the renders combine several rumours that have appeared in recent months through supply chain reports and analysts, including Mark Gurman.

The renders show an iPhone with glass flowing across all four edges and an almost invisible bezel around the display. The back panel also appears to use an all-glass finish. According to the claims in the video, the phone could feature under-display Face ID technology and remove physical buttons completely.

The name “iPhone 20” has also raised questions. Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 this year, which would normally make the 2027 model the iPhone 19. However, reports suggest Apple could skip directly to iPhone 20 to mark the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone.

Apple followed a similar approach in 2017 when it skipped the iPhone 9 and launched the iPhone X for the iPhone’s tenth anniversary. That device introduced Face ID and a near edge-to-edge display.

According to the latest rumours, the iPhone 20 may bring three major design changes. The first is a quad-curved display. Reports claim Apple is working with Samsung Electronics on a custom OLED panel that curves slightly on all four sides.

The second change could be the removal of the Dynamic Island. The leaks suggest both the selfie camera and Face ID system may sit completely under the display.

The third reported change is the removal of traditional power and volume buttons. Instead, Apple may use solid-state touch controls with vibration feedback to simulate button presses.

The redesigned phone could also receive major hardware upgrades. Reports claim the device may use Apple’s upcoming 2nm A21 chip and include a 200-megapixel main camera sensor with improved HDR performance. The phone is also expected to use silicon-carbon battery technology for better efficiency and battery life.

Reports further suggest Apple is working with both Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics to solve technical problems linked to the quad-curved display. One key issue is maintaining brightness around the curved edges of the screen.

Under-display Face ID is said to be another technical challenge. Apple will need to maintain fast facial recognition while also preserving selfie camera quality.

The renders remain unofficial, and Apple has not announced any plans for an iPhone 20. More details are expected to emerge as development of future iPhone models continues.
